Sue Davis is lecturer and professional learning consultant in the faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education at CQ University (Noosa Hub). She has been an educator for more than 25 years, working mainly as a Drama Educator and Performing Arts Head of Department (Kenmore SHS, Noosa District SHS). Her research interests include pedagogy, creativity, arts education,and assessment. She has conducted PhD and research MA in the area of Drama and New Media and also has post-graduate qualifications in Arts Administration. Sue has written curriculum and assessment materials for Queensland 1-10 syllabus and assessment projects and sits on the QSA state panel for Senior Drama and the Arts Learning Area Reference Committee (LARC) for the QSA.
Sue worked on the Drama Queensland committee for many years, initiating the XLD Drama Showcase in partnership with QPAC and has presented and published about drama curriculum at state and national level. She has been on various committees and is currently Chair of the Cultural Sector Board for the Noosa Biosphere, Secretary of the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance (a Richard Florida sponsored project) and the Sunshine Coast Coordinator for Pecha Kucha Night. Previously she was involved with Contact Youth Theatre, the original Two High committee and Noosa Regional Arts Development Committee. Sue spent several years working as a project and policy officer for Education Queensland developing curriculum packages utilising arts processes and also working as an equity consultant to the National Arts curriculum project. She has devised numerous works with and for young people, taking on the role of facilitator, writer and director.
Sue has worked for CQUniversity since 2005, initially on a part-time basis and full time since 2007.
